Lets talk about how I’m going to marry the Hunger Games cast.

(the actors as the characters; I’m already married to the ones in my head, duhh)
Lets assume that they all somehow live as well.

Katniss: Hate sex will be had. All da timmme. She’d start bitching about loving Peeta or Gale and I’d be like “shhhh, they can join later”

Peeta: We’d paint together and make beautiful love. It’s true.

Gale: He can live in a shack by himself. Gale is a cunt.

Haymitch: We’d just get drunk together and make fun of everyone.

Cinna: I’d just like to hold his hand.

Effie: We’d go to raves together.
“Let’s become pearls from the co-”
“shut the fuck up and lets dance.”
(clearly that’s how it’d go down)

President Snow: He’d troll everyone with me.
“Snow, did you fuck with Katniss again?!”
“Bitch causing riots and shit. I knew she’d like my motherfucking roses.”

Finnick: Sex. All day, everyday, never gonna end.

Johanna: We’d be pretentious together.

Rue and Prim: Hopping from trees talking about how Katniss can’t get her shit together.

Cato: We’d create a fight club together and then turn them into a massive orgy.

President Coin: Fuck that bitch up.

Annie: We’d watch television shows together. I don’t know why I would want to but she seems like someone that would enjoy a Joss Whedon creation.

Everyone not mentioned: Party hard. We can all have a bonfire and share life stories and then sleep in a meadow counting stars.

Hunger Games

Every time I see a reference to Gale, I get really annoyed. Gale was just annoying (almost) completely throughout the entire series.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

So I finished the entire series. I’m kind of moping around a little but it will pass, I needed to get my mind off of the end of Harry Potter but now, I need something to get my mind off of this but I know there are the movies to come…

I didn’t like President Coin at all, the entire book I couldn’t wait for Katniss to kill her. Somehow I knew she’d do when she was supposed to kill President Snow. I mean c’mon, we all know that President Coin would have made the entire Panem exactly like he had but with her district as the new “Capitol” and everyone would have to be on schedule and what-nots.
Gale upset me a lot in this book. He was cool at times, but for the most part he was just irritating and I’m really glad he ended up in district 2. Though, I feel it would have been right for him to visit Katniss after the she was brought back to district 12. Maybe not for the sake of him “loving her” but definitely because they were once best friends. Even though they both knew that the people they once were and how their relationship was could never be the same, at least they should have recognized that something was once their and enjoy how each of their lives have gotten better. I don’t know, just meh.
Finnick, ohhh Finnick. I absolutely loved him in book two and admired him in this book. He was always so silly, even when his mind was boggled and the thoughts of Annie never left him. It was good that he knew Katniss loved Peeta somehow so that they both could have something to help each other with. To be honest, his death was a blur to me. That whole part where they’re underground and running from the mutts, I wasn’t reading it as intently as I was the rest of the book. After he died, all I could think about was Annie. I feel as if he was what kept her in touch with reality and their love for each other is was gave them both happiness and again, some form of sanity. So after he died, I worried about her and wondered how she was feeling or what she was going to do.
I’ve adored Prim since the beginning. She was always sweet, and she could clarify all the thoughts going on in Katniss’ head. When she died (I knew it was coming because STINA just said “poor Prim” and I died inside so I knew something was going to happen) it was the worst. She was basically the person who set everything in these books in motion, just because her name was called at the reaping. I feel like it was President Coin who sent the parachutes and sent Prim in the front. So that Katniss will undoubtedly blame President Snow and the Capitol and to appreciate her for taking it down. Obviously that isn’t how it works, which is the best.
Peeta left me in despair in this book. Oh, it was torturous. First he wasn’t there with Katniss. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t there for about half of the book. I really wanted Katniss to say something about him or recognize that she cares for him in one of the propos. She kinda did but that when too little, too late. When they hijacked him, I died inside too. No matter what, I think he was Katniss’ rock and since he hated her and didn’t understand anything, Katniss only had herself really. I hated all of the terrible things he said to her and how he treated her, but he didn’t know, it wasn’t his fault. I’m so glad Haymitch told her to be kinder to Peeta, though it was near the end, he was right. If she was hijacked, Peeta would be with her everyday, showering her with love, retelling all of their memories together and the ones they shared. He would have tried to save her, even if it meant her fury. I kind of thought of him in a child state during his “recovery”, I’m not sure why. Just the fact that he doesn’t understand what real or not and his running on hate, I felt so bad but at the same time I was just like “Katniss, show him the way, prove you guys had something wonderful, at least show him that he’s (the real Peeta) more than anyone could dream to be!” I was so happy he took her nightlock and told her no. I think that was him protecting her from her worst enemy, from herself. It was amazing that he was more like himself when he went back to district 12. I was so happy they went back to loving and comforting each other. Finally Katniss realized what I(we) knew all along. That she didn’t need Gale, she needed Peeta and it was always apparent (even when he was hijacked) that he needed her. In the epilogue I wish that Collins had written Haymitch in there too, somehow.

over all, I really enjoyed the books and am sad that they are over but a little happy that the movies are being made. This book will be on my mind all day and probably all week. MEH.
